Toronto, Ontario
The Beaches
Lakeside living with a small-town feel
Overview
The Beaches (often just called 'The Beach' by locals) runs along the eastern Lake Ontario shoreline from Woodbine to Victoria Park. It's one of the few Toronto neighbourhoods where you can walk to a proper sandy beach, and the boardwalk alone is reason enough to live here.
The housing stock is a mix of century Edwardians, 1920s detached homes, and a growing number of tastefully modernized infills. Queen Street East is the main commercial strip and it's packed with independent restaurants, coffee shops, and boutiques.
